OOTA 2025: Crafting Nostalgia into Tabletop Games
The excitement was palpable, the creativity contagious, and the results extraordinary! The Out of Thin Air (OOTA) 2025 tabletop game jam, hosted at the University of Central Punjab in collaboration with Takhleeq Problem Solving Institute, Pakistan Games Collective, and the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Club, was nothing short of spectacular.
Over 48 intense, fun-filled hours, more than 160 students forming 40+ teams dove deep into their creative reservoirs. From raw ideas to fully playable tabletop games, these enthusiastic participants embraced this year’s theme—NOSTALGIA 📼—and crafted immersive experiences that transported players back to cherished memories and beloved childhood moments.
From Idea to Tabletop Triumph 🏆
Participants learned the art of conceptualization, design, prototyping, and rigorous playtesting—all within just two days. The energy was high, the hustle real, and the outcomes truly impressive. With the invaluable support of over 15 mentors from diverse gaming and creative backgrounds, students were guided every step of the way, refining their ideas into polished games ready to captivate any tabletop enthusiast.
